Easter Blog Hop

Welcome blog hoppers!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog even though I’m pretty far down the list. That’ll teach me to choose a pen name that begins with a Z. 😛

My prize for this blog hop is a PDF copy of my latest release from Ellora’s Cave, Blush PET’S PLEASURE.

Frankly and honestly, I’ve never been one for Easter. I didn’t enjoy hunting eggs/candy. My mother and I were laughing about that just the other day. As a child, I didn’t see the point of searching for candy the adults could have just handed to me. Thus, I refused to do it. I was the only child who had an empty basket every year and I didn’t care. What can I say, I was a stubborn child.

My best friend told me about her fondest Easter memory once and we both had a good laugh. The higher ups in her town thought it might be fun to do a candy drop from a helicopter not realizing that candy falling from such a height would REALLY hurt. Suffice to say, they only did it that one year. The image of children screaming for the people to drop the candy and then running for cover as the candy missiles hit them is one that will always tickle me.

Do you have a funny Easter memory? What is it? Put your funny anecdote in the comments section to be entered to win a PDF of PET’S PLEASURE. Remember to leave your email address so I can notify you if you win.

  1. easter holds lots of fun memories with family coloring, hiding & hunting eggs for the youngsters (back when they were still young) but 2 memories stick out in particular — 1 was when I was little & my easter basket was hid in a garbage bag in the kitchen (I believe it was moved several times before pity was taken & good hints given) & the second when my nieces were little & hunting eggs — a greenish egg was “hid” sitting on top of a small hurricane style candle lamp (part of a set, only foot high) that always set on the middle of the dining room table, it was the last egg to be found, there's a picture of both girls looking at the table but unable to find it (the egg is clearly visible in the picture – sometimes you just can't see what's right in plain sight in front of your nose *g*)

  2. LOL, the helicopter, too funny. Last year my sister was in charge of the egg hunt. Now she has 2 step kids and my other sis has 2 kids. (Mine is only 3 so she got to hunt eggs alone in the front yard where the hubby and I just kinda tossed them on the grass.) So each kid had to get a certain number of each color. It sounds good in theory, all the kids get the same amount so no one gets mad. Well the kids ignored thier papers and just ran all over the yard grabbing all they saw. When they brought their basckets to my sis she went trhough them and tossed out the 'extra' eggs. It was so funny to see the kids faces when she was just like “You only needed 5 yellow” and just threw the others over her shoulder into the grass. Well not so funny written out, guess you had to be there. I hope she doesn't do that again this year tho. Anyway, thanks for being part of the hop. Happy Easter!

  3. When I was little I attended a church which had many parishioners that were farmers. One Easter they wanted to act out when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey with a donkey. Well the donkey they used knocked the guy playing Jesus off his back, then bit the preacher and took of running down the hill. I almost peed myself I was laughing so hard.

  4. I guess the funniest memories I have was when my oldest son and youngest sister ( they r 3 months apart) were hunting eggs when they were about 3. Jacob was much better than Hannah. He found a lot more eggs. When he was looking and she thought no one else was either, she snuck up behind him and proceeded to transfer several of his eggs to her own basket. She did that kinda stuff to him all the time. Haha

Freshmen year of college while my roommate and I were watching a movie on Easter Sunday, a friend from the floor below us burst in (we didn't lock our door) and announced how she'd lost her virginity an hour before to her boyfriend. We just let her talk until she was done and left. My roommate got up locked the door before looking at me and saying, “This is one Easter she'll never forget.”
    Happy Easter!

  6. I usually start at the bottom of the list because I figure most people don't get that far down the list in the allotted time. Especially if there are over 100 participants. I really need to find a way to hop faster. Thanks for the chance to win.
    Happy Easter

  7. One of my favorite Easter memories is when my siblings and i woke up to big baskets of candy and a board game a piece. We took all of our candy, threw it into one huge bowl, put it in the middle of the table and my famiy played our board games all day long. I remember having so much fun! Laughing, having a stomach ache from eating to much candy and nothing else! Its one of my favorite memories. 🙂 Happy Easter! You have a wonderful time and have a great weekend! 😉 Thank you for sharing and for the giveaway!

  8. My aunt always made my sister and I twin dresses every year and we always managed to get them very dirty while looking for eggs and candy. I come from a large family and we always ended up rolling on the ground.
